About me:
I write electronic and acoustic music. My work is inspired by elements of faith, philosophy, and spirituality. While many of my works use complex techniques, electronic media, or computer-aided algorithmic composition, these tools are imbued with deep philosophical meaning, which prevails above technical considerations.
My studies at the Verdi Conservatory in Italy, together with my passion for bossa nova, jazz, and music from cultures I'm unfamiliar with, also influence my work. Outside of music, I have a background in languages and literature. My BA in Greek and Roman Studies, as well as my cognate minor in comparative literature, have lead to a number of experiences teaching Latin, both in the US and in Italy. This background has significantly broadened my approach to artistic expression in composition, as well as my habits of close reading/listening in form and analysis. In addition to composing, I'm deeply passionate about musical analysis. In particular, I'm interested in mathematical and phenomenological approaches to music.
At the moment, I'm discovering new sounds through dissonant curve optimization with inharmonic spectra. The process is really nerdy, but the results so far are surprisingly beautiful.
I live in Glendale Heights, Illinois with my incredible wife, Jasmine—the most selfless and supportive woman in the world!
